The Eliasson CBME80 is a stand-alone ceilometer designed on the Lidar principle using a laser diode. The measurement range is 7600 meters with an accuracy of ±1% of the measured distance.

The Vaisala CL31 ceilometer measures the cloud height in three layers using a pulsed laser diode LIDAR technology. The measurement range is 7600 meter and measures the the cloud coverage in oktas using the built-in sky condition .

Campbell SkyVUE 8 Ceilometer uses the LIDAR technology to measure the cloud height and has a measurement range of 8000 meters. The instrument includes a sky condition algorithm to measure the cloud coverage.
